We welcome our beloveds who have passed with a beautiful Altar filled with cempasuchil, light, chocolate, pan, dulces, ofrendas y copal. No se te olvide que el viento comienza a soplar. Eso significa, que pronto llegarán nuestros seres queridos que se han ido; amigos, conocidos, personas que quizás nunca los vimos pero sabemos que vienen a visitar nos. Los esperamos con ansiedad. Los vamos a esperar con su altar, donde no debe de faltar su vela, su agua, el aroma de la flor cempasúchil, mole, dulces. Que no falte nada de lo que a tu ser querido le gustaba tanto - un chocolate, café, pan, flores, todo eso lo que es la esencia para darle la bienvenida. Los esperamos con tanta alegría o fervor. Por que nos recuerdan, en ese día, su risa, su voz, sus sabios consejos, y esa noche los tendremos en presencia espiritual. Entonces, no olvidemos, el día 2 de Noviembre a poner tu Altar.
Y el día 2 de Noviembre, tendremos una Conmemoración con Mole, Chocolate, Pan y bebidas refrescantes de 6p - 8p. $30 por plato/per plate. $15 for students. Children eat free.

También se hace una Acción de Mensajeras. Los mensajes se entregan al fuego del altar y los carga el humo del copal y el olor del cempasúchil al mundo espiritual.

Mazahua and Otomis believe that monarchs carry the soul of a relative or friend who, for one night, returns to the world of the living to celebrate the Day of the Dead in the first days of November. Messengers celebrate Monarch´s cross-continental journey traveling upwards of 3000 miles from Canada and the northern United States to the oyamel fir forests in the mountains of Mexico.
Messengers create a collaborative space to make a passage of paper monarchs from the fire to an Ofrenda. Participants are invited to write a message on the butterfly wings for the loved ones who passed away. As well as consider ways to support Monarch´s journey in their local community. You can help monarchs refuel on their long migratory journey by planting native wildflowers that bloom in the late summer into the fall.
Understanding monarchs in connection to traditional knowledge creates a story that turns an exciting migratory insect into an ecological and cultural cornerstone for preservation and uniting people.
